
The skateboard is done
This past week, school started for my children, and school started for my students. That means, school started for me, and my time to make art is basically cut into a very small portion of time. Mostly later in the evenings, if I have any energy left. I'm thankful for the weekend, because it allowed me to devote a long stretch of time to finishing my board. Steps to painting a skateboard
The last 2 days have been busy with this painting. It's a mini(penny-sized) skateboard which I'm painting to enter into the Boarded Up 5 skateboard show which will be hanging at City Arts Orlando. This is the first 6 layers I've put into this painting. In this case, I'm doing a series of acrylic glazes, to build up the color and richness of the piece. Skateboard on my mind
Today, I finally started working on a painting for the Boarded Up 5 show. This show is one of my favorites. Everything and anything to do with skateboarding gets displayed. I am working on a tiny board this time. I was concerned for my time constraints. So I figured, one small completed board is better than a large unfinished board.
